STURDZA EAGER TO BUILD MOMENTUM AFTER MAIDEN WIN

Caroline Sturdza couldn’t have had a better start to 2026.

Beginning her first full season as a professional on the LET Access Series (LETAS), the Swiss golfer won the season-opening Madaëf Golfs Ladies Open by MSE in April.

After a five-week break, the LETAS Order of Merit leader is ready to return to action with the LETAS season resuming this week in Austria.

Sturdza, 23, said: “I’d say the win sunk in pretty quickly. Honestly, it was a pretty laid-back celebration with my parents.

“It felt really sweet in the moment, but at the same time I moved on from it pretty fast. I think in golf you enjoy the moment, but then your focus naturally shifts onto what’s next.

“I’ve been spending time with friends and family, playing several different sports, and just enjoying being home for a bit. I was also in the U.S. for a short time, so it’s been a nice balance between recharging and staying active.”

At the May 20-22 Allegria Stegersbach Ladies Open, the Stanford graduate will face a different challenge.

It is the second of 19 events on the LETAS schedule in 2026 and will see a field of 126 players across 31 nationalities teeing it up at the Allegria Golf Resort.

“It is my first time playing the course. I haven’t spoken to anyone about it, but I honestly enjoy discovering new golf courses and figuring how my game fits the course best,” she said.

“The biggest thing for me right now is continuing to build a strong foundation. I’m learning a lot week by week. My focus has been on keeping good structure around my practice and making sure I’m improving in the areas that matter most long term.

“I’m really excited for this upcoming stretch of competition and to finally put the work into action after this break.”

Sturdza will commence her first round of the Allegria Stegersbach Ladies Open at 12.14 pm (local time) tomorrow, alongside Spain’s Maria Villanueva and Finland’s Anna Backman.
