CORBI HOPING TO BUILD ON CAREER-BEST FINISH AND FIRST HOLE-IN-ONE

Not only did Maria Vittoria Corbi score her first career hole-in-one at the Ladies German Challenge, but she also recorded her first-ever top five finish on the LET Access Series (LETAS).

“It felt extremely special,” she said. “It was on hole 17, which was a 181m par 3 and it was really good because I got to see it land and go in. It was really good and really special.

“It’s a quick turnaround from Germany. We landed about two days ago, and today we had the practice round, and tomorrow we’re gonna start the tournament in Sweden.”

The Italian golfer, 25, is hoping to carry her good form into this week’s PGA Championship.

“I played really good, it was a solid week and I like where my game is going,” she said. “My long game was really good, I also putted it really well and everything worked well together. Hopefully this week as well I will do good things and limit the mistakes.

“I feel like staying the present, it’s something I’m working on. It’s easy to say, but like really actually doing it every single shot, it’s really hard. I think it’s important and can really help a lot.

“So, like, the mental part, obviously, I think it’s the biggest challenge in this sport. Honestly, I think doing that, that’s something I’m working on.”
