2025 BEST LETAS MOMENTS: GEMMA CLEWS’ COMEBACK

Clews

The 2025 season on the LET Access Series (LETAS) was full of incredible sporting moments. This month, we are reminiscing about some of our favourites.

For one athlete, 2025 was truly a standout year. England’s Gemma Clews achieved something that had never been done before. Not only did she return to LETAS to regain her card, but she also finished the season as the number one player on the 2025 LETAS Order of Merit.

In 2023, Clews finished sixth on the LETAS Order of Merit to claim the final LET card available that season.

However, after a difficult year on the LET in 2024, where she lost all her status, Clews initially found herself unsure of her next steps. Ultimately, she decided to return to LETAS.

It proved to be the best decision the 30-year-old could have made.

After a steady start to the season, Clews earned a breakthrough victory at the inaugural Allegria Ladies Open, where she clinched a one-shot win over home favourite Katharina Muehlbauer. From there, she became the epitome of consistency, recording eight top-10 finishes, including two more runner-up results at the AMUNDI Czech Ladies Challenge and her home event, the Rose Ladies Open (RLO).

Following the RLO, Clews had already secured her LET card but chose to play out the remainder of the season. She faced a challenge in the race for the LETAS Order of Merit title, but in the end, there was no real competition. Clews was the only player to reach the 2,000-point mark, finishing a commanding 271.66 points ahead of her nearest rivals.

Clews’ story is truly inspiring, and the incredible feat achieved by the three-time LETAS winner should not be underestimated. Her time on LETAS has firmly secured her place in the history books. She became the first player to win back-to-back titles at the Smørum Ladies Open, the oldest winner of the LETAS Order of Merit, and the only player to return to LETAS, regain her card, and finish the season as the overall top player.
