Switzerland’s Caroline Sturdza is excited to compete at home for a second week after she successfully made the cut after receiving an invitation to the LET’s VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.
Sturdza has played six events on LETAS this season. The Stanford Alumni’s best finish has been tied 37th at the Ladies Slovak Golf Open.
Speaking about what making the cut at her LET home tournament meant, Sturdza said: “Making the cut last week was definitely a little confidence boost. I would say, it felt great to see that the things that I’ve been working on are translating, even when there’s pressure of playing at home, as a pro in my first LET start.
“I want to carry the same mindset that I had going last week, into this week. I want to have the same composure and have the same fun out there.
“I know I want to build on the momentum that I had with my ball striking as well.”
Sturdza is no stranger to Golf de Lavaux having teed up as an amateur in previous editions of the event and played the course on the junior circuit. Her previous best finish at the Lavaux Ladies Open was tied 29th in 2024 as an amateur.
“Last week was a lot of fun, even though it’s quite far from my home town but this one is only 15 minutes away, so I’ll have more friends and family come watch and support.
“I know the course pretty well, and I’ve played this tournament quite a few times as an amateur, and it will be my first time playing it as a pro.
“It’s definitely a beautiful golf course, pretty short and scorable in my opinion.”
Sturdza’s best world amateur ranking was 41st and she was also part of Stanford University’s 2022 and 2024 NCAA Championship winning teams. Sturdza comes from a golfing family with her older brother Max being a professional golfer on the Alps Tour. Yet this week it is her sister Camille on the bag.
“My sister will be caddying which is really fun and definitely something that I do not take for granted. It’s nice to have family on the bag once in a while, so I’m excited to share that with her and to, you know, just laugh our way around the course and have a good couple good days, hopefully.”
Sturdza tees it up at 13:18 local time alongside Australia’s Belinda Ji and Slovakia’s Katerina Drocarova.
