TATTI THRILLED TO PLAY ON HOME SOIL

Italy’s Caterina Tatti cannot hide her excitement to play on home soil next week at the Lombardia LETAS Open.

In just over a week, the LET Access Series (LETAS) players will be teeing it up at the stunning Golf Club Varese for the first time.

The event is a later addition to the schedule but has provoked much excitement especially amongst our Italian players who are relishing the first time playing at home on the tour since 2021.

Speaking ahead of the week, Tatti said: “I’m very excited to be playing in Italy and I’ve been waiting for another chance to play on such a beautiful course.

“I just can’t wait to go there and play. It’s exciting to have a tournament in Italy right after the Ryder Cup. I’m sure it will be very special.

“As it was a late addition to the schedule, it’s extra exciting as we didn’t expect the tournament.”

Tatti is relatively new to the professional golf scene having turned professional back at the end of last year in December.

Yet the 24-year-old from Florence recently celebrated a career milestone a few weeks ago after making her first cut on the tour at the Ahlsell Final at Elisefarm.

“Next week, I just want to put my best golf out there and have a great week. I’m very excited. I think I’ve said that a lot now!

Tatti is also hoping to use her previous experience of Golf Club Varese to her advantage.

“I played the course a lot when I was younger, I really like the course itself and it’s a beautiful place with amazing surroundings.

“I haven’t been able to play that much this year, so I’m glad to play at this event and happy to play on home soil.”

“This year I’ve gotten to know a lot of the girls on tour, the players, and the staff on the LET Access Series and whilst the season has been a little slow. It’s been a learning process and a curve.

“It’s been interesting to say the least and I’m glad I get to experience all of this.”

A total of 108 players, including Tatti, will tee it up in Italy for the 54-hole stroke play tournament.

Offering a prize fund of €50,000, the first winner of the Lombardia LETAS Open will be crowned on Saturday 7th October following a cut of the top 45 professionals and ties after round two.

With the LETAS Order of Merit heating up as we approach the end of the season, we are sure to be in for some showdowns on the course.

For players both inside and just outside the top six spots, it will be crucial to perform well in Italy to get one step closer to securing their LET Card for the 2024 season.

It’s sure to be an exciting week so follow all the action on @letaccess on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok and LET Access Series on Facebook – #RaiseOurGame.
