It’s been a while since I last wrote about my travels! My sister, Nikki, has made her way over to England from Australia, and we have been busy taking selfies.
We took a little trip to London over the last few days, where we saw HM The Queen in real life, and it was probably the best 3 seconds of my life. I have just about calmed down from it enough to get back to reality.
I’ve played a few events over the last couple of months, so I’ve compiled a quick overview of my results:
The Elisefarm Ladies Open in Sweden was a great event with Fanny Sunesson (former caddy of Sir Nick Faldo and Henrik Stenson) sponsoring the week. Fanny gave up her time for two Q&A sessions for the players, which was very insightful and appreciated by everyone.
I posted scores of 69 and 70 to be 5-under par and one off the lead of fellow Aussie, Stacey Keating. It was fun to finally play with another Australian, and I enjoyed our final round, despite my horror finish. I ended up in a tie for 15th with a total of 1 over par.
The Nordictrack Open De Strasbourg was next, where I had a steady week with scores of 73, 71, 72 to finish in a tie for 25th with several others on a score of even par.
In between Strasbourg and our next event, I implemented my new number one life hack; having a friend that lives in Paris. It’s a pretty good one, feel free to use it. My travel buddy, Stacey Tate, who lives in Paris with her Australian fiance, put me up in their apartment and showed me the city. I was in love with the Eiffel Tower and enjoyed the fact that I basically forced Stacey into ordering snails because I wanted to see what they looked like but definitely didn’t want to eat them. She’s a true friend… she ate the snails!
The Azores Ladies Open was not my finest work on the course. I shot scores of 82, 73 to miss the cut by one (I’ll just leave it at that). We did have some of the best views of the year, though, with beautiful looks at the ocean from the higher parts of the course.
I also played in The Sanya Ladies Open in China last month on the Ladies European Tour. I didn’t play well, so the week was highlighted by catching up with some of my friends that I hadn’t seen in a few months.
Other than my own game, though, I feel like I can’t talk about golf at he moment without mentioning my friend Beth Allen because she is killing it and I just want to write about how impressive it is, to be honest. So far, 2016 has undoubtedly been Beth’s year. A wedding, 2 wins in 2 starts and is now sitting on top of the Order of Merit on the Ladies European Tour.
I met Beth around 4 or 5 years ago in Australia when I was a 16-year-old amateur. Beth had been on the LET for nearly ten years and welcomed me onto a tour when I wasn’t even part of it. At that time Beth was such as solid player and was probably the best out there without a win. Now she’s had three wins and is the number one player on tour, and I’m so happy to see her lifting trophies every week. I know every other player involved with the tour is equally as pleased to see Beth doing so well.
It’s always good when the best people play the best golf so keep an eye out!
