This is the final event on the 2013 Generali Ladies Tour, the official feeder tour which forms part of the LET Access Series, created to give professional golfers and elite amateurs the opportunity to play and gain an exemption category on the Ladies European Tour as well as gain exemptions from LET Tour School.
Following the Fourqueux Ladies Open, three players will qualify for the Lacoste Ladies Open de France being played at Chantaco Golf Club in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Aquitaine, from September 26-29.
There will be wild cards available for the winner of the Generali Ladies Tour Order of Merit, the top French professional, down to 15th place on the order of merit and the top French amateur, down to 10th place on the order of merit.
The field of entrants includes competitors from 23 different countries from across Europe to the United States, Australia and Colombia.
Players to watch include French professionals Cassandra Kirkland, winner of the 2012 Sanya Ladies Open in China, Caroline Afonso, Celine Herbin, Marion Ricordeau and Julie Greciet as well as the 14 French amateurs in the field.
There are eight of the top ten players on the current LETAS order of merit including top ranked Mireia Prat of Spain, third placed Caroline Martens of Norway, fourth placed Monica Christiansen of Denmark, who won the Dinard Ladies Open in April and fifth ranked Heather MacRae from Scotland, who won the Solvesborg Ladies Open hosted by Fanny Sunesson in Sweden a fortnight ago.
They are joined by promising LET rookie Mallory Fraiche of the United States, Australians Bree Arthur and Sarah King and South African Connie Chen among others in the sixth tournament of 13 on this year’s LET Access Series.
At the close of the 2013 LETAS season, the top five players on the 2013 Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour while players in sixth to 20th positions will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School for 2014.
