Marion Ricordeau became a first time winner at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open near Cannes in Provence at the season-opening event on the 2012 LET Access Series.
The 25-year-old from France finished on eight under par after three rounds at Golf de Terre Blanche, three strokes clear of Australian Rebecca Flood, who had a level par 73.
Ricordeau had seven birdies and two dropped shots in a round of five under 68 and said that she played the par fives particularly well.
She hit the fourth in two shots and also birdied the long sixth and ninth on another beautiful, calm day with temperatures around 18 degrees Celsius.
“I feel well and I will take a lot of confidence from this win,” Ricordeau told L’Equipe television.
Frenchwoman Caroline Afonso, playing in the event for the third straight year, had another podium finish.
The 2010 event winner, who finished second in 2011, mixed four birdies with one bogey in her final round to end third on four under par.
Fellow Frenchwoman Julie Maisongrosse finished two strokes further back in fourth, while the 2011 LETAS order of merit winner Marieke Nivard of the Netherlands tied for fifth with Belgium’s Lien Willems.
The next tournament is the Dinard Ladies Open taking place at Dinard Golf in Saint Briac Sur Mer in northern France from April 12-14.
