LET ACCESS SERIES RETURNS TO SWITZERLAND

The LET Access Series is back this week for the first time this season at the Flumserberg Ladies Open at Gams-Werdenberg Golf Club, Switzerland from 3-5 September.

The 54-hole shootout is the first on the updated 2020 LETAS schedule, which sees 82 players back out on the course competing for a €40,000 prize fund and the chance to get an early lead on the all important LETAS Order of Merit.

With all to play for, the top player at the end of the season will earn the coveted golden ticket – full LET membership for the 2021 season.

Defending champion Elena Moosmann is one of 15 home-grown talents on show at Gams-Werdenberg Golf Club with as many as ten of those being amateurs. The opportunity to pitch themselves against seasoned professionals is a huge lure for Swiss hopefuls coming through the ranks and last years champion knows all about the importance.

“It is amazing to play with the professionals and learn more about how they play. I have been lucky enough to play a few more access series events since last year and feel that I am improving all of the time. I can’t wait to start on Thursday.”

Now 18 years old, Moosman admitted to have a few pre-tournament nerves at the thought of the opening tee shot but continued, “It’s great to play at home in Switzerland and we amateurs have a bit of competition together but equally we are there to support one another so it’s a really nice group that we have.”

As many as 48 players featured at last week’s LET tournament – The Tipsport Czech Ladies Open – with six of the top 20 heading straight to Switzerland to challenge themselves again.

Runaway winner and current Race to Costa Del Sol leader Emily Kristine Pedersen is perhaps the biggest name in the field, having had a sensational last three weeks on Tour, and is joined by the likes of former LETAS winner Sanna Nuutinen, in-form Stephanie Kyriacou and Italy’s Lucrezia Colombotto Rosso.

Former LETAS winners Maria Beautell, Laura Gomez Ruiz, Emma Grechi, Rachael Goodall, and Laura Murray are also in the stellar field and will look to recapture their form of previous years.
