Maisongrosse Wins Dinard Ladies Open

Julie Maisongrosse earned the first victory of her professional career at the Dinard Ladies Open after a magnificent final round of 65 in perfect conditions to finish at 13 under par.

The young Frenchwoman started slowly with one birdie and a bogey in her opening nine holes to reach the turn in level par. The former French amateur champion made pars on the first three holes of the back nine before a birdie run saw her 5 under over the last 6 holes, for a back nine of just 29 shots.

The Netherland’s Marjet van der Graaff, whose fellow countrywoman Christel Boeljon makes her debut in the Solheim Cup this week, shot a stunning 64 to finish the week at 11 under par and in second place. The 23 year old from Roosendaal En Nispen has been in good form of late with two top 30 finishes in her last two starts on the Ladies European Tour.

Overnight leader Anna Rossi of Italy, slumped to a final round one over par 71 and would have been extremely disappointed to bogey her final hole to finish in a tie for third with Australian Stacey Keating and Denmark’s Julie Tvede. Both players shot 67’s in the closing round to finish at 9 under par. Through her performance, Tvede earned an invitation to play at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, a Ladies European Tour event, which takes place from 29 September – 2 October.

Finland’s Sovhi Harkonen produced her best golf of this season on the LET Access Series to finish in sixth position. Spain’s Maria Beautell shot a closing 66 to finish in 7th alongside Danielle Montgomery from England who closed with a 68.

Defending champion Jade Schaeffer, a winner just a few week’s ago on the LET at the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters, birdied two of her last four holes for a final round of 68 to finish 9th.

The next event on the LET Access Series, the Trophée Preven’s takes place from the 13 – 15 October at Golf de Bussy Guermantes, near Paris.
