Csilla Lajtai-Rozsa
Hungary’s Csilla Lajtai-Rozsa will take a one shot lead into the final day of the Azores Ladies Open at Golf de Batalha on Sao Miguel Island.
The 19 year-old from Budapest shot an even par 72 in the second round for a one over par total, to sit just ahead of a group of seven players, Joyce Chong (70) of the Netherlands, Austria’s Nina Muehl (68), Astrid Vayson de Pradenne (74) of France, Swede Sarah Nilsson (74), and a trio of Spanish players, Luna Sobron (74), Maria Beautell (70) and Maria Palacios (71).
Lajtai-Rozsa has been the model of consistency with two bogeys and two birdies in her round today. The Hungarian has made just three bogeys in total on the tricky Batalha course and will be difficult to beat tomorrow if she is able to maintain her steady form.
With 5,000 Order of Merit points available for the winner, Lajtai-Rozsa is in pole position to move up from 10th on the LETAS ranking and closer to the top 5 places. At the end of the season, the first five players on the Order of Merit will progress directly to the Ladies European Tour for the 2017 season.
It will not be an easy task for Lajtai-Rozsa with such a bunched leader board and fourteen players within 3 shots of the lead.
Thirty professionals made the cut, which fell at ten over par, 154. The final round will commence at 9.30am from the 1st and 10th tees.
