Sofia Ljungqvist
Sweden’s Sofia Ljungqvist shot an impressive 6 under par in the opening round to take a one shot lead over fellow Swede Julia Davidsson and Csilla Lajtai-Rozsa from Hungary, at the Elisefarm Ladies Open in Sweden.
Ljungqvist recorded eight birdies and two bogeys on her way to a 66. Davidsson holed her second shot on the par four 15th hole to move into a tie with Ljungqvist but finished with a bogey, to fall one shot behind.
Lajtai-Rozsa also briefly moved to 6 under par after 16 holes but dropped a shot on the next hole to move back to 5 under par and into a tie for second with Davidsson.
Ten players are tied at 3 under par, Austrian’s Sarah Schober and Nina Muehl, German amateur Luisa Dittrich, Annika Nykanen from Finland, Australia’s Amy Walsh, Laurette Maritz of South Africa, Scotland’s Laura Murray and Sweden’s Johanna Bjork, Therese Nerpin and Sarah Nilsson.
The second round’s play will commence at 8.00 from both the 1st and 10th tees.
