Anne Van Dam
The Netherland’s Anne Van Dam takes a commanding eight shot lead into the final day of the HLR Golf Academy Open at Hillside Golf Club in Finland.
The 19-year-old from Arnhem matched nine pars with nine birdies on her way to a 9 under par, 62 in the second round. The LET rookie is playing in just her fourth event on the LET Access Series, recording two top six finishes this year with a tied 3rd placing at the season-opening Open Generali de Dinard and a tie for 6th at the Ribeira Sacra Patrimonio Humanidad International Ladies Open in Spain.
Van Dam will be pursued by Kym Larratt from England and Finnish amateur, Petra Salko, who are both tied at even par after rounds of 69 and 73.
Four players, Sweden’s Johanna Gustavsson (72), a winner this year at the Larvik Ladies Open, local favourite Ursula Wikstrom (71), Denmark’s Rachel Raastad (71) and Austrian Sarah Schober (70) are all tied for fourth place at one over par, 143.
Van Dam is unlikely to be beaten but with just three events remaining on the 2015 LETAS schedule, the race for the five LET cards available for the 2016 season is hotting up. Both Larratt and Gustavsson are well placed to move up into the top five on the LETAS ranking.
Forty-five professionals and five amateurs made the cut, which fell at seven over par, 149.
