Piti Martinez Bernal
Spain’s Piti Martinez Bernal and Natalia Escuriola take a one shot lead into the final day of the Larvik Ladies Open at Larvik Golf Club in Norway.
The Spanish players, paired together in the same group today, both completed the front nine in 33 shots, which maintained Bernal’s one shot lead over her fellow countrywoman.
Escuriola recorded two birdies and one bogey on the back nine hole, whilst Bernal bogeyed the 13th and 14th holes, then rallied with birdies on the final two holes to draw level with Escuriola.
Bernal currently 35th on the LETAS order of merit, with a season best of 11th place at the Open de Strasbourg, will be hoping to secure her first win on the LET Access Series and move into the top 20 on the LETAS ranking, whilst Escuriola will have her sights set on a second victory this season.
Sweden’s Johanna Gustavsson (68) is in a strong vein of form, with two top ten finishes in her last two starts. The Swede lies in third place on her own at 6 under par, 138.
Overnight leader, Spanish amateur Luna Sobron, shot a second round even par 72, to be tied for fourth place alongside LETAS order of merit leader Olivia Cowan (69), from Germany and Norwegian amateur Renate Hjelle Grimstad (68), at 5 under, 139.
Fellow Norwegian Rachel Raastad shot the low round of the day, 67, to tie for 7th place at 4 under par, along with Nobuhle Dlamini (69), from Swaziland.
Play for the final round commences at 7.30am on Thursday morning.
