The tenth event of the 2015 LETAS season, the Norrporten Ladies Open, with 78 players from 17 different countries, tees off on Wednesday at Sundsvalls Golf Club, Kvissleby, Sweden.
With number one ranked Isi Gabsa skipping the event to compete in LPGA Tour School in California, the field of competitors is wide open.
This week’s tournament provides the opportunity for the other players to make inroads into the all-important top five on the LETAS Order of Merit, who in October will be rewarded with full cards to play on the LET in 2016.
The remaining nine players in the top ten on the Order of Merit are in the field, with second ranked Olivia Cowan of Germany just over 1200 points behind Gabsa, with six events remaining this season.
A win this week will be rewarded with 5000 points and third placed Natalia Escuriola from Spain will be hoping to draw closer to the order of merit leader. The 21-year-old who won the recent CitizenGuard LETAS Trophy, plans to play the remainder of the season on LETAS, whilst continuing with her amateur schedule.
Play will commence tomorrow morning at 8.00am from both the 1st and 10th tees.
