A field of 120 players from 27 countries will contest the inaugural CreditGate24 GolfSeries Hamburg Open in Germany this week. The tournament gets under way from Thursday to Saturday at Treudelberg Golf & Country Club and will provide an incredible opportunity for local golf fans to experience the excitement of women’s golf ahead of The Solheim Cup in seven weeks’ time.
With a purse of €50,000, the CreditGate24 GolfSeries Hamburg Open will feature the biggest prize fund of the season.
The current leader of the LETAS order of merit, Isi Gabsa will headline a strong field, which features eight of the current top ten players on the ranking. The 20-year-old, who hails from Munich, will be hoping to record her third win of the season, after recording back-to-back wins in Sweden and Norway earlier this year.
“It’s great that we have a LETAS tournament in Germany this year it’s always awesome to play in your home country… It’s really good that Creditgate24 are supporting us on the LET Access Series with such a great tournament and I am looking forward to a fun week on the course.”
Gabsa will be joined by fellow German, Olivia Cowan, who finishes 2nd in her first event as a professional at the recent CitizenGuard LETAS Trophy and sits in 2nd place on the LETAS ranking, just over 1,000 points behind Gabsa.
Spanish amateur Natalia Escuriola, who occupies third position on the LETAS order of merit, will also be in the field, fresh from her first win on the LET Access Series in Belgium two weeks ago.
At the close of the 2015 LETAS season, the top five players on the 2015 Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour, while players in sixth to 20th positions will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School for 2016.
