Lina Boqvist
Sweden’s Lina Boqvist takes a one shot lead in the Onsjö Ladies Open, after rounds of 72 and 69 for a total of 141.
Boqvist equalled the low round of the week on the testing Onsjö Golf Course, which is playing long after the heavy rainfall, which caused a delay during the first round’s play. The Swede birdied the 2nd, 8th, 9th and 10th, with one bogey coming on her final hole.
Melanie Maetzler from Switzerland shot a second round 70 to tie for second place with Lynn Carlsson. The 26-year-old Swiss player struggled at the start of her round, opening with two bogeys, but a strong finish with birdies on the final two holes, vaulted Maetzler into second place.
Carlsson, who led after the opening round, was still tied for the lead until two late bogeys in the last five holes, halted her progress. The Swede shot a second round 73, 1 over par.
Denmark’s Julie Tvede (70), Natalie Wille (70) from Sweden, Norway’s Cecilie Lundgreen (70) and Scot Sally Watson (71), who currently leads the LET Rookie of the Year ranking, are all tied for fourth place at even par, 144.
Swede Johanna Bjork and Anna Christina Kindgren from Colombia are both a further shot back at one over par, 145, in a tie for 8th.
Forty-three professionals and eight amateurs made the cut, which fell at +10, 154.
