GERMANY’S KARG TO ADOPT CALMER APPROACH INTO SECOND LETAS SEASON

As a fresh-faced rookie on the LET Access Series (LETAS) in 2025, Hannah Karg pushed herself to play all 19 tournaments on the calendar.

Despite three top 10 finishes, Karg finished 20th in the Order of Merit standing and outside the top seven who secured their 2026 season LET cards.

“I feel like last year has been so competitive,” she said. “We had a lot of different winners, which ranking wise is difficult, and at one point I realised I have to win a tournament to have a chance to make top seven, which I didn’t do.

“I feel like I had a decent season and I’m trying to kind of get back on track. I haven’t been playing my best so far. But it’s a long way and if you have two or three good weeks, it’ll be a big game changer.”

Playing on home soil for the first time, Karg is hoping the turnaround will come at this week’s Ladies German Challenge in Wuppertal.

She said: “I’m very excited. It’s gonna be a fun week. My family is gonna be here, so it’s definitely gonna feel a bit different to the other tournaments, but I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’ll have my brother caddying for me on Friday. He used to play golf as well, so he knows what he’s supposed to be doing. I think it’s a big helping factor if you have someone carrying your bag.”

Karg is coming into her second LETAS season with a more relaxed mentality.

She said: “Sometimes golf just randomly throws some things at you, and you have to deal with it. You have to be kind to yourself. Compared to last season, I’m trying to be more calm, cool and collected.

“I like playing a lot of tournaments. Last season I played every tournament on the schedule, which was tough mentally. I would say you have to find some ways to enjoy life outside of golf course.

“If there is an opportunity to maybe skip an event and focus on recovery, practicing at home, I will do that.”
