DROCAROVA EXCITED TO USE WEEK AT HOME AS TURNING POINT

This week marks Katarina Drocarova’s one year anniversary of turning professional as the Slovak player gets ready to pull off another strong performance at home.

At last year’s edition of the tournament, Drocarova made her professional debut and finished tied seventh. This year she is hoping for better.

Speaking ahead of the week, Drocarova said: “I’m really excited for this week. It’s going to be fun. My mum is caddying for me which will be great.

“I think the course is in really good shape. The greens are going to be tough as always so it will be important to putt well and to hit it close when possible.”

In 2024 after just four appearances on LETAS, the University of Denver alumni secured a full card for the 2025 season and recorded two top-10 and two top-20 finishes.

In 2025, the 24-year-old has only made two cuts and been struggling on the course with a highest finish of tied ninth at the AMUNDI Czech Ladies Challenge.

“I would like to finish better than last year but I’ve been having a rough year so it’s hard to tell. This week marks a year of being professional.

“The first half of the professional year was great, but this season has been rough. I’ve been doing some changes in my game and hopefully it will start to pay off. I’m hoping this week will be a turning point.”

Drocarova is one of Slovakia’s emerging talents. She had a successful amateur record being a four-time Slovak Women’s Stroke Play and two-time Slovak Women’s Match Play champion as well as representing her country on the wider European stage.

One of Drocarova’s passion outside golf is rollerblading and she plans to relax outside of the tournament by doing some.

“Outside of the golf I might do some roller skating. I know this area well. If I didn’t have a lot of walking to do during the golf tournament I would go hiking. This area is beautiful.

“I just want to enjoy this week. The best thing about competing at home is having my family come to support. I’m excited for them to come out and watch.”

The second edition of the Ladies Slovak Golf Open will be held at TALE Ski Golf and Hotel Resort between 13-15 August.
