Mireia Prat
The LET Access Series reaches its climax at the Mineks Ladies Classic, which takes place at National Golf Club, near Antalya, Turkey this week. The event will be a key tournament for many of the players in the field and will decide their plans for next season. Five cards on the Ladies European Tour for 2014 and fifteen places to the final stage of LET Tour School are at stake.
Spain’s Mireia Prat has already guaranteed her place amongst the stars of the Ladies European Tour next season and with her fabulous performance over this year, two wins and a further six top five finishes, Prat has also secured her place at the top of the LETAS Order of Merit.
Fellow countrywoman, Patricia Sanz Barrio, along with Denmark’s Nicole Broch Larsen are also assured of their places on the LET for next season, but the remaining two cards are still wide open and there is all to play for.
Twelve players are in contention to finish in the top 5 places, with Fabienne In-Albon from Switzerland and Scotland’s Heather Macrae currently occupying the final two spots. The winner of the event this week will earn 5,000 points so there is the possibility for many changes in the next few days.
With the Lalla Aicha Tour School Pre-Qualifying taking place in Rabat, Morocco over the next two weeks, there are fifteen players in the field who will avoid this pressure packed week and progress directly to the final stage in Marrakech from the 14 – 18 December. Amongst those players hoping to finish well in the final event is Norrporten Ladies Open champion, Lauren Taylor, who is currently lying in 21st position on the Order of Merit.
Many questions still to be answered but all will be decided on Saturday this week. Follow the action at the Mineks Ladies Classic from the 28 – 30 November, with daily live scoring.
