Amalie Leth-Nissen had the best start to the 2025 LET Access Series (LETAS) season with a win at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open and is now looking forward to competing in Morocco.
The Danish star secured her first professional victory at the season-opener winning by three strokes at Golf de Terre Blanche.
Since her victory, Leth-Nissen has spent the last couple of weeks at home enjoying time with her family and friends, and preparing for the rest of the season.
“It’s been pretty good,” she said. “It was nice to have a couple of weeks to train and see people and relax and get back at it. I enjoyed being home and just focusing on the right stuff again.
“It was my first professional win and also my first win in a couple of years, so it was pretty special to see my family at home because all of them support me so much. Especially my grandparents, they picked us up from the airport and they were just they were so thrilled for me. Everyone was just happy, it was really nice.”
This week is historic for LETAS with the Tour in Morocco – it is the first time an event is being held outside of Europe.
The Madaef Golfs Ladies Open will see a field of 95 LETAS players compete at Golf Lacs Saidia between 25-27 April.
Leth-Nissen has played in Morocco before, but never at this golf course and expects a challenge – especially if the wind picks up.
She continued: “I have found it nice, it’s a lot different from playing at home. It’s a lot warmer, so you have to get used to that.
“But I played the course yesterday and I think it’s a course where you have to play smart. If the wind is picking up like yesterday, it’s going to be difficult, but I feel ready and I’m just staying in the process as a focus.
“I’m staying with my sister, so it’s nice to have some quality time just the two of us. It is different, we’re doing our own thing, but you have to be aware about the sun and wearing sunscreen. I like being here.
“I think it’s nice that they are expanding and thus far, it’s a really great event. They’re making a lot out of it. It’s nice to be outside of Europe and try some new courses. That’s important to grow the game and also grow LETAS.”
Despite having won the first event of the season, the 20-year-old hasn’t changed her goals for 2025.
It was an unexpected victory, but Leth-Nissen hopes to use the good parts of the game from her win and stick to her processes.
She added: “For me, it was the first event, so I didn’t really have that high expectations because you’ve been out of tournament season for a long time and you have to get back into it. So, it came as a good surprise.
“Now I’m taking the good stuff from that week and just focusing on my main goals for this season. Nothing has really changed, I won and that’s really nice, but it’s just the same goals I have for the season. To keep continuing and focusing on the bigger picture and my process.”
Leth-Nissen will tee it up in round one on Friday at 11.50 am (local time) alongside Morocco’s Lina Belmati and England’s Gemma Clews.
