LETAS’ JESSICA HALL MAKES THE TEAM FOR 2024 CONCESSION CUP

Hall

LETAS’ Jessica Hall has been selected to represent Europe for the inaugural edition of a women’s side to the Concession Cup.

The 2024 Concession Cup is November 4th -9th at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club. It is the fifth playing of this Ryder Cup-style event between the top Mid-Am and Senior amateur players in the USA and Europe.

The choice to pick Hall comes with no surprise after her great season on LETAS, including two top 10 finishes.

Hall also finished as the top amateur at this year’s edition of the Get Golfing Women’s Golf Championship, her fourth time of receiving this award across 11 tournaments played.

Conducted by the Amateur Golf Alliance, the matches promote the amateur game worldwide to the Mid-Am and Senior players.

US Captains Carol-Semple Thompson and Danny Yates will lead a US squad of experienced players against a loaded team from Europe led by Tore Sviland, 2022 Men’s Captain, and Elaine Ratcliffe will lead the women’s side.  Yates and Sviland return as men’s captains, with past Curtis Cup Captains Semple-Thompson and Ratcliffe leading the women’s side in vying for the Thompson-Bonallack Trophy.

The 2022 Match played in Valderrama, Spain, came down to the last match for the US to pull out the victory.  Many of the same players return, and the European team represents over eight European countries.  Team USA has a mix of new and old faces, including the 2024 US Mid-Am Champ Evan Beck and US Senior Am champ Louis Brown.

The Matches include an Am-Am and Four-Ball, Foursomes, and singles matches played over three days of competition.

The Landings Golf & Athletic Club hosts a Korn Ferry Tournament and is a community with six golf courses. The matches will be played at the recently renovated Palmetto course.

Speaking about earning a spot on the team, Hall said: “I’m really excited to have been selected for Europe.

I knew about it a few weeks before it happened and I didn’t want to get my hopes up in case I didn’t get picked.

The fact it is in America as well will make it such an experience and I can’t wait to be over there with all the girls and feel part of a team, hopefully we will beat America while we are there.

“It’s the first time women have played, so I feel honoured and it makes it very exciting.”
