THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR THE GET GOLFING WOMEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

After months of waiting, the Get Golfing Women’s Golf Championship is finally upon us. 

Having been described as some players as “the Major” of LETAS, it’s sure to a be week we don’t forget.

With the largest field of 144 players and the largest prize fund of €80,000, the tournament promises to be incredibly exciting.

Before play gets underway on Friday, here are three things you might not know…

TWO SPOTS YET TO BE FILLED

If you’ve already looked at the tournament entries, you will notice there are two spots yet to be declared.

On Tuesday 27th , 29 players will compete in an 18-hole pre-qualifying event. 

Whilst a £5,000 prize fund is up for grabs, with a £1,500 first prize, it’s not just money the players will compete for.

The top two players will earn a promoter invite to the main LETAS tournament. 

THE LARGEST PRIZE FUND

For players and media, the biggest headline this week is the prize fund, which matches the tour record at €80,000. 

It’s a good week to lead, with the winner receiving €12,800. 

The tournament field has also been expanded to 144 players, the largest field the tour has seen this year.

THE FESTIVAL OF GOLF

The excitement starts before the first player tees off on Friday, with a whole host of activities for players and spectators to get involved in. 

With footgolf, table tennis, an island in-range challenge and plenty more there is something for everyone this week.
