BRIEM SECURES SECOND WIN AT THE AMUNDI CZECH LADIES CHALLENGE

German amateur Helen Briem stole the show yet again by walking off the 18th green at Panorama Golf Resort the winner of the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge with a one-shot-lead.

It was a tougher day at the office, but the teenager held it together to secure her second LETAS win, back-to back with her first a week ago.

The 18-year-old had a difficult front nine carding consecutive bogeys on holes five and six with many putts rolling just short.

On the back nine, Briem played more aggressively. After attacking the pin on the par-3 steep downhill 15thhole, the German got her one birdie of the day.

“In the end today required patience, I definitely didn’t have my best day, but I made a couple of good shots and that was enough.”

Briem becomes the fourth player in LETAS history to secure back-to-back wins, the last person to do so was the LET’s Sara Kouskova who topped the Order of Merit in 2022.

“It feels great, to win my first two LET events with the intention to get the LET card is obviously great. To walk away from two tournaments with two wins and lots of points helps a lot.”

Now Briem has a new target, to become the first player in LETAS history to make three consecutive wins.

“Of course I will be looking for a third win. This week I have some more time to celebrate as I’m driving home.

“I think it will be better celebration than last week. Today is going to be a great day.”

The Netherland’s Nikki Hofstede walks home with the winner’s cheque after an outright second place on two-under-par.

Two English players and friends, Billie-Jo Smith and Megan Dennis sit joint third on one-under-par.

Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall sits solo fifth on par whilst Swiss amateur Victoria Levy and France’s Ariane Klotz finished sixth on one-over-par.

Amateur Lucie Vachova finished the highest Czech player in eighth on two-over-par after a phenomenal final round of four-under-par.

Rounding out the top ten in joint ninth was New Zealand’s Hanee Song and the Netherland’s Lauren Holmey on three-over-par.

LETAS now heads to sunny Spain for a co-sanctioned event with the Santander Golf Tour at Naturavilla Golf in Avila starting on the 20th of June.
