A field of 118 players from 20 different countries will gather at Ingarö Golf Club in Stockholm, Sweden, on 25-27 July, to contest the seventh event on the 2013 schedule: the Ingarö Ladies Open hosted by Elin Emanuelsson.
This co-sanctioned event between the LET Access Series and Nordea Tour is making its debut on the LETAS schedule.
The tournament features a high quality field of competitors, with 59 players from Sweden, including former Solheim Cup player Charlotta Sörenstam, who represented Europe in the 1998 match at Muirfield Village in Ohio and now works with her sister Annika at her academy in Florida.
Madelene Sagstrom, a 20-year-old amateur from Enkoping, currently a student at Louisiana State University, will also be playing, after finishing second to Finland’s Oona Vartiainen in the individual event at the European Team Championships at Fulford a fortnight previously.
The pair are joined by seven past LETAS tournament winners are in the field: Anastasia Kostina (2012 Golfstream Ladies Open), Antonella Cvitan (2012 Samso Ladies Open), Anna Rossi (2012 Azores Ladies Open), Christine Wolf (2012 Crete Ladies Open), Monica Christiansen (2013 Dinard Ladies Open), Mireia Prat (2013 Ocho Golf Ladies Open) and Heather Macrae (2013 Solvesborg Ladies Open).
The tournament result counts towards both the LETAS and Nordea Tour order of merits and after the next two events in Sweden, the Nordea Tour order of merit winner will earn a place in the field for the Ladies European Tour’s highly anticipated Helsingborg Open at Vastorp Golf Club in September.
The exempt player will be announced following the Norrporten Ladies Open on Aug 30 – Sept 1.
At the close of the 2013 LETAS season, the top five players on the 2013 Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour while players in sixth to 20th positions will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School for 2014.
