FOUR HOPEFULS HEADING TO Q SCHOOL FINAL STAGE

Q School

Recently we’ve been spotlighting our fantastic players who finished in the top 21 of the LET Access Series (LETAS) Order of Merit and as a reward head to the final stage of the LET Q School.

Q School final stage starts on the 16th of December and finishes just in time for Christmas on Wednesday 20th December.

Let’s look at four more talented golfers teeing it up at both Royal Golf Marrakech and Al Maaden Golf Resort.

Number 15: Cecilie Finne-Ipsen

Finne-Ipsen’s rookie season has been incredibly successful with her making 15 cuts out of 18.

The 25-year-old Dane from Ballerup has also had chances to claim a title, most notably at the first event at Ramside Hall, the Trust Golf Link Series where she played in the leading group but finished third.

Ball striking is Finne Ipsen’s gift on the golf course and it will be no surprise if the Dane will make an impact at final qualifying as she carries on with her end of season momentum where she finished with four consecutive top-10 finishes.

Number 16: Lianna Bailey

Q School

Lianna Bailey’s season can be split in two distinct halves. The first half Bailey built up momentum which culminated with a fantastic win at the Trust Golf Link Series.

However, post-win the English player missed six cuts out of eights which took a knock to the 26-year old’s confidence.

Yet in the final event, Santander Golf Tour-Zaragoza, Bailey posted a first round of 67 and finished tied 16th to end the season with assurance heading into Q School.

The dip in results Bailey attributed to tiredness, speaking about the missed cuts she said: “I think a combination of a lot of things has caused it, I was tired and run down and put a lot of pressure on myself. I’ve learnt a lot in my rookie season but I’m so pleased to dig out a decent result after a touch stretch.”

Number 17: Lejan Lewthwaite

Unlike the other players in this article, Lewthwaite has split her season between the LET and LETAS yet since July the South African has been a regular on the entry list.

Lewthwaite’s season could be turned into a blockbuster Hollywood movie as she went from losing her title sponsor to being a season champion.

The 32-year-old, who now lives in England brilliantly took the title at the Hauts de France Pas de Calais Open after a dramatic three-hole playoff.

Lewthwaite also posted another top five at the Calatayud Ladies Open and played in the leading group.

Number 18: Georgina Blackman

England’s Georgina Blackman has had a consistent season on LETAS recording three Top 10 positions and only finishing four times out of the Top 30.

Her best finishes were on home turf when she finished fifth at both the LETAS Link Series at Ramside Hall and the Rose Ladies Open at Brockett Hall, her home course.

Speaking on social media about her season, Blackman said: “It’s been a great year for me on the course. I had a mixture of results, but I have learnt so much and reminded myself what I am capable of. I also really enjoyed my golf again which is something I had been struggling with since turning pro.”

It’s over a month till the players tee it up in Marrackech so in the meantime, catch up on the rest of the season by following us: @letaccess on InstagramX and LET Access Series on Facebook- #raiseourgame #accesstolet.
