Charlotte Wild
England’s Charlotte Wild (-3) held her nerve to take a one shot lead into the final day’s play at the Norrporten Ladies Open. Wild dropped two shots in the first three holes, recovering well with a birdie on the par five 4th hole, before finishing her round with fourteen pars in a row for a 73. The young Englishwoman has enjoyed the challenging Sundsvalls Golf Course, commenting “I really like this course, it is a tight course and it really suits my game well. I hit the ball straight, I just enjoyed these two days.”
Finland’s Linda Henriksson, an early starter set the clubhouse lead, shooting one under par 71, for a 36 hole total of 142. Henrikkson is looking to improve on her season best finish of 4th at the Sölvesborg Ladies Open in May. Fellow Finn Sohvi Harkonen, with rounds of 73, 71 and Swede Helena Callahan, with 70, 73 are tied in the 3rd place at one under par.
The Netherland’s Chrisje de Vries shot 72, to occupy 5th place on her own, at even par. De Vries is currently lying 6th on the Order of Merit and is looking for her first victory after coming so close in last year’s Crete Ladies Open, losing in a one-hole play-off to Austrian Christine Wolf.
With bad weather predicted for the final day, the 3rd round will commence at 7.30am.
