England’s Charlotte Wild opened with an impressive 68, 4 under par, to lead the Norrporten Ladies Open by two shots from Sweden’s Helena Callahan.
Wild, one of the early starters, made the most of the calm conditions, scoring five birdies and a solitary bogey on the 1st hole, to record her second best round of the season on LETAS. The Englishwoman closed with a 5 under par, 67, to finish in a tie for second place at the Fourqueux Ladies Open earlier this year.
Callahan, mixed three birdies with one bogey on her opening nine, to be out in 2 under par, before completing her back nine with straight pars, for a round of 70.
Six players lie a further shot back at 1 under, including Sweden’s Lina Boqvist, who currently leads the Nordea Tour ranking. The top ranked player after this week’s event will earn a place in the LET’s Helsingborg Open, which takes place at Vasatorp Golf Club next week.
