VIDEN VISUALISING THE WIN ON HOME COURSE

Viden

Sweden’s Corinne Viden is excited to be playing very close to home this week at Kungsbacka GolfKlubb.

After losing out to England’s Gemma Clews in a three way play-off final at the Smorum Ladies Open, the Swede is feeling confident in her game.

“I am very excited about this week,” Viden exclaimed, “My game is trending, and my swing has been feeling good for a while. I have a lot of confidence in my game going into this week.

“I love this course; it is so much fun to play. The greens are probably the best we will play all year.

The 25-year-old player who attached to Delsjö GolfKlubb in Gothenburg just 17 miles away is enjoying home comforts this week and will have plenty of support with friends and family able to come and watch her play.

It’s a family affair too for Viden this week, as on the last two days the Swede will have her younger sister on the bag and she promises that spectators will hear a lot of laughs on the course from them.

“Kungsbacka is only 15 minutes from my home, so it is very familiar. Obviously, it is great to sleep in my own bed as well.

“I’m also very happy to have some friends and family coming out too to support me.”

Viden who is currently ranked 20th in the LETAS Order of Merit has had a consistent season with her game trending recently with a second place in Denmark and a top-7 finish at the Capio Ogon Trophy in Sweden.

Now, Viden hopes to go one better than Smorum and lift the trophy at a course close to her heart.

“My goal this week is to win. I will do my best at every shot and just enjoy playing here.”

Viden tees off at 9:30am alongside Denmark’s Puk Lyng Thomsen and France’s Lucie Malchirand.
