Scotland’s Hannah McCook and Sweden’s Corrine Viden both fired rounds of 69 (-3) to lead after round one of the Capio Ogon Trophy.
With both playing in the afternoon, they tested their game in sunny but windy conditions.
Viden had a faultless round, starting on ten the Swede got off to a steady start with four pars in a row before she fired up the flagstick to roll in birdies on 14,16 and 17.
Viden then made par on all the front nine holes to get off to a brilliant start at Upsala GolfKlubb.
Speaking about the round, Viden said: “I played pretty solid today with no bogeys.
“I have more to give but very happy with today’s game in the wind.
“I was just happier on the course today than I have been in a few weeks, having my sister on the bag helps.”
Viden had two top 10 finishes on LETAS in 2022, but despite making all the cuts this season is yet to dominate a tournament.
“Upsala is providing us a top class course. Even though the course has taken on lots of rain the last few days it is in great conditions.
‘I am just going to continue to have fun. Taking one shot at the time, 36 holes to go.”

Scotland’s Hannah McCook had an equably good round, playing one group behind Viden the Gleneagles golfer made three consecutive birdies on 16,17,18 to get off to a strong start.
Two bogeys and two birdies on the front nine left the Nethy Bridge golfer tied at the top.
Speaking about her round, McCook said: “The round was good today.
“It was tricky in the wind, and I knew before I teed off it was going to be tough, so I think that actually reduced my expectations.
“I drove it well all day. I had a really good chance on my 6th hole (the 15th) but missed it and then I went on to birdie the next 3 to get to -3 though 9.”
Back in May, McCook won a three-way play-off thanks to an eagle at the first play-off hole to take victory at a Rose Series Ladies Event.
On LETAS, it’s been a solid season for the Scottish Golfer, with cuts made but this marks the best start to a tournament so far.
“The course is lovely, I’d say it’s one of if not the nicest one I’ve played in Sweden.
“It’s in pure condition. It’s a bit damp after the rain at the weekend/start of the week so I think it’s favouring us that fly it a little further.
McCook believes she will take plenty of encouragement from leading at the start of the week.
“Tomorrow, I want to be similar to today really, try not to expect too much.
” I am hitting it well off the tee and feel everything is coming together, so I’ll just see what happens!“

Three birdies on the front nine got Maggetti off to a hot start, but one birdie and two bogeys on last nine held the 32-year-old back from taking the lead.
Maggetti, on her round, said: “I’m happy with my driving and iron. I put the ball in play off the tee and manage to hit my iron quite close to the pin, giving me a lot of birdie putt chances.
“Tomorrow, I want to keep to the same game plan, to try to keep the ball in play off the tee and hopefully make more putts.”
There is a four way tie for fourth place, with Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini, Morocco’s Lina Belmati, Denmark’s Natacha Host Husted (a) and Sweden’s Ellen Amilon, also an amateur on one-under-par.
Six players sit in eighth position including Irish amateur, Sara Byrne who has impressed so far at her first two professional tournaments in Sweden.
