The LET Access Series (LETAS) want to wish a massive congratulations to Sweden’s Emma Thorngren on an outstanding off-season on the NEXT golf tour.
Thorngren became the top ranked woman for season 2 of the NEXT golf tour and overall placed 14th in the Order of Merit.
As a reward for such amazing play, Thorngren has received the ANNIKA WAPT Wildcard, which includes membership to the tour and entry to three ANNIKA WAPT events in the USA this summer.
Speaking about the opportunity, Thorngren said: “It means a lot, I might have to re-evaluate my schedule this season. I was of course planning to play LETAS for the season but I will look into playing opportunities in the US and we will see what happens.”
“It’s just always great to have more doors open for you.”
Thorngren played in four of six rounds of the NEXT golf tour and had her best finish in Round 4 at the PGA West Stadium where she placed second on 10-under-par.
The Swedish star narrowly missed out on the win to the US’ Jordan Weber, who won the overall Order of Merit rankings.
Thorngren also received a personalised well done message from Anika Sorenstam, a legend of the women’s game.
Thorngren had a strong season last year on LETAS finishing 12th on the Order of Merit and securing five top-10 finishes plus a top-10 finish at her home tournament on the LET.
