The Elisefarm Ladies Open, which takes place from the 15th – 17th September at Elisefarm Golf Club in Horby, Sweden, will feature a stellar field with eight past LETAS tournament winners headlining the event.
Sweden’s Isabella Ramsay, along with fellow Swedes Jenny Haglund and Josephine Janson, both winners this season, and Emma Nilsson and Emma Westin will all be hoping to collect the trophy for the event, which has Fanny Sunesson as its ambassador and host.
Sunesson, with her vast golfing knowledge, is conducting some Q&A sessions this week for all the players who are competing.
Spain’s Carolina Gonzalez Garcia will also be looking for her second win this season and Michele Thomson of Scotland, currently lying in 5th place on the LETAS Order of Merit, will hope to improve her position with five events remaining on the 2016 schedule.
The current LETAS ranking leader, Spain’s Maria Parra will miss the event as she competes in the World Amateur Team Championships, which is taking place this week at Riviera Maya, in Mexico.
Other notables in the field are Norway’s Cecile Lundgreen, a two-time winner on LETAS and Sarah Schober from Austria, England’s Charlotte Thompson and Sanna Nuutinen from Finland, who occupy 2nd, 3rd and 6th positions on the current ranking.
At the close of the 2016 LETAS season, the top five players on the 2016 Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour while players in sixth to 20th positions will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School for 2016.
