Strong Start for Bagger in Dinard Ladies Open

Mianne Bagger

The Dane scored an opening round of six-under-par 64 on a blustery and cool day at Dinard Golf on the coast of north-western France.

Bagger, who started on the tenth hole and carded five birdies for an outward 29 and 35 on her back nine, was delighted with her round. She said “I putted really well today, I had just 25 putts. I changed putters last week to an old ‘Bull’s Eye’ that I’ve had for 12 years and I holed everything. The greens are rolling really well.”

One stroke behind Mianne Bagger is Anna Rossi of Italy, who shot a five under 65 with an opening nine of 34 and 31 on her back nine. A further stroke behind is Mary Mattson from the United States who played in the calmer morning conditions, shooting a 3 under par 67. Also tied at 3 under par are Frenchwomen Julie Maisongrosse and Lucie Andre. Australian Stacey Keating, England’s Danielle Montgomery and French amateur Ariane Provot finished at 2 under par to tie for sixth.

The top finishing player at the Dinard Ladies Open, not otherwise exempt, will receive an invitation to play at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, due to take place at Paris International Golf Club from 29 September – 2 October.
