A field of 120 players will take part in the Open Generali de Strasbourg at Golf de Strasbourg in France, from June 11 – 13 this week.
This is the final event on the 2015 Generali Ladies Tour, which forms part of the LET Access Series. Following the Open Generali de Strasbourg, three players will qualify for the Lacoste Ladies Open de France being played at Chantaco Golf Club in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Aquitaine, from September 24 – 27.
There will be wild cards available for the winner of the Generali Ladies Tour Order of Merit, the top French professional and the top French amateur.
The field of players includes competitors from 27 different countries. Players to watch include French professionals, Jade Schaeffer, winner of the LET’s 2009 HypoVereinsbank Ladies German Open and 2011 Raiffeisenbank Prague Masters and Caroline Afonso, winner of the 2010 LETAS order of merit, as well as the 16 French amateurs in the field.
There are six of the top ten players on the current LETAS order of merit in the field, including top ranked Isi Gabsa of Germany, third and fourth placed Michele Thomson from Scotland and England’s Kym Larratt.
They are joined by 2013 LETAS Order of Merit winner, Mireia Prat from Spain, Germany’s Ann-Kathrin Lindner, winner of the LET’s 2013 HONMA Pilsen Golf Masters and Margherita Rigon from Italy, who finished tied fourth in this year’s LET Buick Championship, among others in the sixth event of 15 on this year’s LET Access Series.
At the close of the 2015 LETAS season, the top five players on the 2015 Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour, while players in sixth to 20th positions will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School for 2016.
