STROKES GAINED EXPLAINED

Since the end of 2023, the Ladies European Tour (LET) has been using Upgame to enhance the data insights and statistical analysis provided for players on Tour.

After their competition rounds, players go onto the Upgame app – which has been integrated with the LET’s scoring system – to record and analyse their round of golf.

With the Tour having used the app for the 2024 season, let’s take a look at the strokes gained data from this year.

In case you didn’t know, total strokes gained is a statistic which allows players to see where they rank based on the average number of strokes per round that the player was better or worse than the field average.

The data also allows you to see where players gain the most strokes on the field when they’re playing and there are categories based on driving, approach, short game and putting.

Through the data inputted by players, the LET is able to showcase the total strokes gained in each category so far this season, as well as the average strokes gained in each category.
