This week 119 women golfers from around the world will descend on Hillside Golf and Country Club in Vihti, Finland, for the HLR Golf Academy Open taking place from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August.

With a €50,000 prize fund, the stakes are high as the 40 players making the 36-hole cut will earn one and a half times the order of merit points available at regular tournaments. The winner will receive 7,500 points plus a cheque for €8,000, while the runner up will earn 5,550 points.

This is the 11th stop of 16 events on the 2014 Ladies European Tour Access Series, which will come to a gripping conclusion at Stoke by Nayland in England in mid-October.

At that point, the leading five players on the order of merit will qualify to compete on the 2015 Ladies European Tour and the ranking is now taking shape with six events including the HLR Golf Academy Open still to be played this year.

The field of 119 competitors includes players from 21 different nations. Finland is represented by 41 players, including 30 amateurs. Sweden has 22 players including current LETAS order of merit leader Isabella Ramsay as well as Emma Westin and Emma Nilsson, while England has 20 players, including amateur star Georgia Hall.

Spain and Scotland each have five players in the tournament, followed by France with four and Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Norway each with three players. There are two players from Colombia and Denmark, while there is one player from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Iceland, Ireland and Poland.
