Louise Stahle
Sweden’s Louise Stahle started strongly in the first round of the Pilsen Golf Challenge, opening with a 6 under par, 65, to lead by one shot from fellow Swede, Emma Nilsson, with heavy overnight rain causing a one hour delay to the start to the tournament.
Stahle has just come off an extensive rehabilitation for an injury and plans to play on the LET Access Series to work her way back on to the Ladies European Tour. The 29 year-old from Lund birdied the 1st, 6th and 9th holes to make the turn in 33 shots. Stahle added further birdies on the 11th, 13th, 17th and 18th, with just one bogey on the tricky par four 16th hole.
Nilsson, a late starter in the chilly and breezy conditions, started with a bogey on her opening hole but picked up the pace, scoring six birdies to finish at 5 under par.
France’s Melodie Bourdy, who only had the opportunity to play a nine hole practice round, due to a delay with her flight, did not suffer from a lack of course knowledge, to score six birdies and two bogeys, for a round of 67, 4 under par.
Five players are tied in fourth place at 3 under par, Austrian Nina Muehl, Ireland’s Tara Delaney, Charlotte Wild from England and Sweden’s Isabella Ramsay and Lina Boqvist.
Play will begin for the second round of the Pilsen Golf Challenge from 8am, with players teeing off from both the 1st and 10th tees.
