Czechia’s Sara Kouskova is excited to continue the 2022 LET Access Series (LETAS) season with the Elite Hotels Open in Jonkoping, Sweden.
The Jonkopings Golfklubb hosts the last Swedish event in the LETAS calendar where 93 players compete for a purse of 40,000 EUR in the 54-hole event from August 31 to September 2.
The Prague native, who is currently sitting in the sixth position on the LETAS Order of Merit has had an eventful season graduating from the University of Texas, turning professional, and winning her second LETAS title.
“I am excited to give myself another chance, I think I wasn’t far from being in contention last week. I would like to stay patient though, I think this course will require that,” said Kouskova.
Coming off a fourth-place finish at last week’s Goteborg Open, the Czech star is enjoying her time in Scandinavia as she keeps improving her results in northern Europe.
“I really like Sweden. Everyone is so friendly, and nature is beautiful. The course offers a quite large variety of golf – blind shots, narrow fairways, a lot of position holes but also some reachable par fives.
“The stronger wind during the practice round also spoke up as an important variable that we will need to pay attention to. In contrast to Kungsbacka Golfklubb last week, the greens have a little less movement, but they are also much smaller.”
While on the chase after the 2023 LET card which will be awarded to the top-six players on the LETAS Order of Merit at the end of the season, the 23-year-old cherishes the new weekly experiences in her rookie career.
“I am enjoying it a lot. With every tournament, I meet some new friends and it is nice to be like colleagues at work.
“It is incredible how the girls help and support each other while on the road and I am really happy to be a part of it.”
Play goes underway on Wednesday morning at 8:00 local time from the first and ninth tees. Kouskova will play alongside Spain’s Noemi Jimenez Martin and local amateur Matilda Bjorkman, starting at 12:50 pm local time.
