SALORT STAYING PATIENT IN BID FOR STRONG WEEK AT HOME

France’s Chloe Salort is excited to be back on home soil at this year’s Haut de France Pas De Calais Golf Open.

The 24-year-old has had a strong rookie season on the LET Access Series (LETAS) with two top-10 finishes and making all the cuts in the twelve tournaments she has played so far.

Speaking ahead of this week, Salort said: “I’m very excited to play this week! It’s nice to be home again and play in my country in front of the French people.

“I will have my best caddy with me, so I hope it’ll go well. I have put all the chances on my side.”

This week Salort has her friend Jean on the bag, an experienced caddy to French players on the LET, the DP World Tour and the Alps Tour.

“The course is nice, there’s some weird holes where you must find the right spot to have the right angle to go for the green or so.

“The greens are good, I’m glad that we have good greens and nice fairways!

“It’s definitely nice to play with the guys because we can see people that we know and we don’t see much anymore. It’s also weird to see that many guys in tournament, we’re not used to it anymore!

“But it’s fun, it’s nice to have changes sometimes and maybe we can learn something from them.”

Salort has had two top fives this season, one in France at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open and another at the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge where she came tied third after consistent rounds of 73,72 and 72.

My goals for this week will be to stay patient and focused and to give as much as I can to get the best place at the end of the week.

“I’m hoping to be in the top five, but I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself, I just want to do three good rounds and be able to say at the end that I’m proud of myself.

“My season so far has been a bit a rollercoaster. I’ve been making all 12 cuts so far, I’m happy about that but I feel like recently I haven’t been where I should be. “

“I think my game is correct, especially my putting is getting good again, so I feel like I’m close to playing well.  Hopefully I’ll be able to show it before the season ends.”

Salort starts her campaign at 12:50pm alongside two-time winner Chiara Tamburlini and Scotland’s Hannah McCook.
