ROOKIES TO WATCH IN 2024

Armbruester

A new season ushers in a new class of rookies all hoping to make their mark and achieve their dreams of playing on the LET in 2025.

The season opener, the Terre Blanche Ladies Open, saw eight rookies start their season off successfully by making the cut.

Last season, four of the six players to earn their LET cards were rookies so find out more about the rookies this year hoping to follow in their footsteps.

Natalie Armbruester

Rookies

Switzerland’s Natalie Armbruester started the season off strong with a top 10 finish in Terre Blanche.

Carding rounds of 75, 70 and 71, Armbruester had a dream start to her rookie season on LETAS.

Speaking about her first tournament experience, Armbruester said: “After a nervous first day, I was glad I was able to bounce back with two under par rounds.

“I struggled at times with my tee offs and found myself having to save par from some very tricky places.

“Luckily, I putted well and was able to hole some key putts. Overall, I am pleased with my first event.

“The course did expose some of the weaknesses in my game. I look forward to working on those areas and getting ready for the June stretch.”

Armbruester had already shown her mettle on LETAS after securing a top 10 finish at last year’s Ahlsell Final at Elisefarm where she finished tied seventh.

The 24-year-old, who graduated from NC State last year, impressively placed 13th at the Pre-Qualifiers last December to earn herself a spot at Final Qualifying but fell short of a top 20 position and plans to earn her card through LETAS this year.

Vanessa Bouvet

Rookies

Still an amateur, France’s Vanessa Bouvet had a fantastic first week on tour with a top 10 finish.

Playing on her home course, Bouvet comfortably secured rounds of 75, 70 and 71 to finish the first week strong.

Bouvet said: “I thought that it was a fun and challenging week and I’m really excited to redo events like this again! I’m excited for the next event.”

Ariane Klotz

Also performing well in her home country, France’s Ariane Klotz put on a strong show to finish T-23rd.

Ariane started playing golf at Golf Club de la Ouenghi in New-Caledonia (French Pacific Island) at age 10.

At 18, Klotz accepted a full golf scholarship at the University of Delaware to study in civil engineering.

During those 4 years, she was chosen as team captain for her last two years and was named the Team’s Most Valuable Player for 4 consecutive years. Ariane then headed to Switzerland to complete a master’s degree in civil engineering from one of Europe’s top school, EPFL. She graduated in October 2023 before turning professional after Q School.

Megan Dennis

Best friends with 2023 LETAS graduate, Hannah Screen, England’s Megan Dennis is hoping to follow in her footsteps and graduate onto the LET through LETAS.

The 24-year-old started the season strong finishing within the top-30.

The University of Pepperdine graduate said: “The event was run really well and the condition of the course was great.

“The whole week was very relaxed and enjoyable for my first event. Meeting loads of the other people on the tour was fun.

“It helped me network a little bit and make a bunch of new friends.”

Our rookies have a month off before some of them will be teeing it up in France once again at the Montauban Ladies Open, starting on June 7th
