ROOKIE OF THE YEAR UPDATE

Briem

Every year the rookies on LETAS impress and 2024 is no exception with rookies holding the top three spots on the Order of Merit.

Germany’s Helen Briem has shone the brightest after winning three consecutive events: the Montauban Ladies Open, the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge and the Santander Golf Tour- Avila.

The 18-year-old amateur now dominates both the LETAS Order of Merit and the LETAS Rookie of the Year list with 1500 points.

Close on her heels is Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall, who after being given two invites for the Swedish events on the LET, arrived to LETAS refreshed and ready to take on the Czech tournament where she finished fifth.

After that there was no stopping Arwefjall who has posted two more top-5 finishes to sit second on the tables.

Frenchwoman Ariane Klotz has had five consecutive top 10 finishes since the Montauban Ladies Open with her highest finish coming last week at the PGA Championship Gothenburg.

Consistency is always key to securing an LET card at the end of the season so Klotz, who currently sits third on the rookie list is one to watch.

Hopefully the 26-year-old will be entering the winner’s circle soon.

England’s Megan Dennis sits fourth on the rookie list after a strong start to the season, just short of Klotz by around 200 points.

Dennis didn’t compete in Sweden due to receiving an invite in the LET’s Aramco Team Series London, but in Spain and Czech, the 24-year-old finished in the top five both times.

Sweden’s Andrea Lignell, an Ole Miss Graduate, sits fifth thanks to a fantastic performance at the MoreGolf Mastercard Open where she finished runner-up.

Meanwhile England’s Mimi Rhodes sits sixth remarkably after just playing one event, the PGA Championship Gothenburg where the 22-year-old finished third.

England’s Esme Hamilton, France’s Vanessa Bouvet and Switzerland’s Natalie Armbruester round out the top 10 on the rookie list.

With nine more tournaments left in the season, a lot could change so it’s an exciting time to see which rookies will succeed in moving on to the LET for 2025.
