On paper, Germany’s Hannah Karg enjoyed an impressive start to her professional golf career on Tour.
The 25-year-old from Hamburg finished 20th in the rankings after three top 10 finishes with lowest round of 68.
However, a scorecard doesn’t paint a picture and Karg is quick to admit that her rookie season wasn’t straightforward.
Speaking about her overall rookie experience, Karg said: “This year has had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I came into this season with high expectations off the back of a great amateur year.
“The Tour was so competitive. More than I anticipated. We had 16 different winners which is a lot. Points wise I wasn’t far off, but I think the only thing that I was missing last year maybe was the win. Missing cuts was difficult to handle but it’s an important lesson learnt.”
Karg’s commitment throughout the season was unwavering. Karg competed in all 19 scheduled events, a demanding feat for a seasoned and rookie player alike.
Explaining her decision to play in all events, Karg said: “I enjoy playing a lot of tournaments because I feel like I thrive in that environment.
“I don’t feel that physically it was a problem. I feel like the number of events you play in is a personal decision. Everybody needs to figure out what works for them. This year I will skip one, but I plan to play almost all the events again.”
A rookie year is not without its surprises and for Karg this year has been all about growth and developing as a player on and off the course.
“I really enjoyed how welcoming everybody is from staff to players on Tour. The older players on Tour really step up and look after you. That helped.
“This year I really need to stay in my own lane. There are so many ways to play good golf. What works for one person might not work for me. This year I’m staying true to myself.”
Looking ahead to 2026, Karg is excited to see Denmark back on the schedule as Himmerland was her favourite venue last year. Karg finished tied 13th at the event.
“Himmerland was my favourite golf course. I like golf courses where you must think about the golf course. It was a tough golf course.“

It’s also a special year for Karg to compete on LETAS as this is the first year the Tour will return to Germany since 2019, when Laura Beveridge claimed victory at the Rügenwalder Mühle Ladies Open, with the debut of the Ladies German Challenge powered by VcG.
“I’m excited for Germany, even though I don’t know how close to home it is going to be. It will be great to play at Home for the first time on Tour.”
Karg, like most players on Tour has one goal; to finish top seven on the LETAS Order of Merit but she also outlined other goals she’d like to achieve this season.
“I have some more mental goals. I want to stay calmer and more present on the course.
“Getting a win on Tour is the big goal too. I did win two years ago. I love winning. It bothered me that I didn’t get a win last year. So, let’s get it this year.
“This time next year I want to be a more cool, calm collected player. That’s what I will work on.”
Karg will get her LETAS season underway at the season opener in Morocco at the Madaef Golfs Ladies Open at Royal Golf de Fez, a new venue for the Tour.
