Sweden’s Isabella Ramsay shot a closing 71 to win the Kristianstad Åhus Ladies PGA Open by one shot from Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen, who closed with a two under par, 70.
Ramsay finished at two under par in perfect weather conditions and was pleased to achieve her first win on the LET Access Series. “Wonderful. This is my biggest win ever. I had no idea how the scores were. I just played my own game,” said Ramsay, who held the lead for most of the final round.
Ramsay’s boyfriend, Gustav Larsson, was on hand to caddy. Larsson commented, “Isabella played solid and although she was nervous, I was never worried. I’m really happy for Isabella’s sake. She trains a lot, 8-10 hours a day. She has even built a custom tee at home in the garden where she can hit wedges.”
Ramsay’s goal for this season is to gain her card for the Ladies European Tour in 2015. The young Swede will be in the field when the LET Access Series moves on to Sölvesborg for the Sölvesborg Ladies Open hosted by Fanny Sunesson, from the 21 – 23 May.
Germany’s Steffi Kirchmayr and Scot Laura Murray tied for third place at even par, with Switzerland’s Melanie Maetzler and Maria Beautell from Spain, a further shot back in 5th place at one over par.
