Play commences on Thursday at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open

Between, Tuesday at 5pm and 3.30am this morning, it rained over 60mm … Meteorologists were probably happy but the green keeping team certainly were not. The team of 30 started working very early in order to empty the 70 bunkers, clean up the fairways and greens. The heavy work was finished at 7am but a few minutes later the heavy rain started again opposing all of their efforts!

The tournament committee decided at 9.30am to postpone the first round due to bad weather forecasted for the day by Meteo France. The full field of 96 players from 20 different countries will get to play the beautifully prepared course on Thursday. Play got underway at 8am on Thursday morning. Defending champion Caroline Afonso made a strong start with three birdies in her first six holes to lead by one shot from Emma Broze and Sahra Hassan.
