Swedish amateur Cajsa Persson fired an opening four under par, 66, to hold a two shot lead after the first round of the Ingarö Ladies Open hosted by Elin Emanuelsson.

Persson, who is based at university in the United States, started her round strongly, making four birdies in the opening nine holes at the 2nd, 6th, 7th and 8th for an outward half of four under par.  The Swede’s back nine consisted of just one bogey at the short par three 4th, before making a final birdie at the 16th hole.

England’s Georgia Hall on her professional debut is in close pursuit, after a three under par, 67. The 18 year-old had four birdies and one bogey during her first competitive round as a professional.

A further two shots back at one under par is Australia’s Bree Arthur, followed by seven players in tied 4th at level par.

The second round will commence at 08.00 with a cut to the top 40 professionals and ties after 36 holes.
