Sanna Nuutinen
Finland’s Sanna Nuutinen recorded her first win on the LET Access Series with a two shot victory in the NordicTrack Open de Strasbourg at Golf de Strasbourg, in France.
The 25-year-old from Helsinki closed the event with a flawless 67, five under par, for a 12 under total and a two shot win over England’s Kiran Matharu.
Nuutinen has been enjoying a strong season with six top ten finishes in 11 events this year. Her win this week helped the Finn to move up to third place on the LETAS Order of Merit.
Matharu started her round strongly, opening with birdies on the 1st and 2nd holes and an outward nine of two under. Further birdies on the 10th and 13th put the 25 year-old from Leeds right in contention but bogeys on the 15th and 18th would prove costly, finishing with a 70 and a second place at 10 under.
France’s Camille Fallay finished in third position on her own, recording a 70 for a nine under par total, 207.
Luna Sobron from Spain, finished in a tie for fourth place in her first event as a professional, scoring a 67 for an 8 under par total, along with France’s Astrid Vayson de Pradenne who recorded a 69.
It was a tough final day for joint overnight leader Michele Thomson. The Scot shot a closing two over, 74, to finish in a tie for 8th place.
The LET Access Series moves on to Portugal next week with the Azores Ladies Open, which takes place at Golf De Batalha on Sao Miguel Island from the 30 Sept – 2nd October.
Just three events remain until the end of the season when the top 5 players on the LETAS Order of Merit will earn their Ladies European Tour cards for the 2017 season.
