Sanna Nuutinen
Finland’s Sanna Nuutinen finished her opening round strongly to lead by one shot from Sweden’s Jenny Haglund and Jessica Ljungberg at the Norrporten Ladies Open in Sweden.
Nuutinen opened with a bogey, then recorded birdies on her 7th, 14th, 15th and 16th holes to sign for a three under par, 68.
The Finn is enjoying the tricky course with its fast greens and credited her short game for her strong play.
“My short irons were good. It was pretty windy as I was playing in the afternoon so I am pretty happy how I managed the wind. I picked the right clubs. I was her last year, it’s kind of tricky and the greens are really fast, which I like.”
Jenny Haglund shot consistent nines of 35 and 34 for a two under par total and was joined on this score by fellow Swede Jessica Ljungberg, who recorded one bogey and three birdies for her 69.
Eight players are tied a further shot back at one under par.
