Italy’s Alessia Nobilio has had a short but very sweet season on the LET Access Series (LETAS.)
Arriving as an invite halfway through the season to the Ahlsell Trophy, Nobilio immediately impressed with a runner-up position which earnt her exemption into the next event, where she finished tied third.
From there the Italian has flourished and made the most of tournament invites, including contending for the win once again at the Lavaux Ladies Open.
Speaking ahead of this week, Nobilio said: “It was great to be at home for a week and have a chance to fix a few things in my game.
“It was great to spend time with my coach, my family and get some rest.
“I feel prepared, and I know I have done all the work that I must do.”
Nobilio, who turned professional two weeks ago had an impressive amateur record including competing at the US Women’s Open, making LET cuts and playing in both the Junior Solheim Cup and Ryder Cups respectively.
Now the UCLA graduate is excited to be competing in Spain and to have company this week.
“My coach is with me this week, so it’s good to have him here.
“I always say Spain is so like Italy. I love the culture; I love the people, and I love the course this week.
“I think it’s challenging and plays longer than other courses we’ve been too but it still suits my game.”
After five events, Nobilio sits 14th with 661.42 points and has an outside chance of earning an LET card automatically for the 2025 season.
“Obviously I’ve thought about it. I know there is a chance I could make it, but I don’t want to put any extra pressure on my game.
“I feel like I’ve played well coming into these events. This week I’m just here to win.
“But golf is golf, and I know I will do my best as always.”
The Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open starts on Thursday 3rd October and will see 108 players tee it up across 54 holes for €45,000.
