Nilsson Leads at Ladies Norwegian Challenge

                                                        Emma Nilsson

Sweden’s Emma Nilsson shot an opening round of 69 to lead the weather-shortened Ladies Norwegian Challenge. The event has been reduced to 36 holes due heavy rainfall before the scheduled opening round on Tuesday, making the golf course unplayable.

Nilsson’s scorecard featured five birdies on the 2nd, 3rd, 11th, 16th and 17th holes and two bogeys on the difficult 1st and 4th holes.

Fellow Swede Isabella Ramsay, the current leader of the LETAS Order of Merit is Nilsson’s closest challenger after an opening 71, one under par.

Five players, Norwegian amateurs Tonje Daffinrud and Mariell Brunn along with Caroline Martens, Finn Annika Nykanen and Caroline Rominger from Switzerland, are tied for third place at even par, 72.

Tomorrow’s final round will commence at 7.30am, with players teeing off from both the 1st and 10th tees. As there is no cut, due to the cancellation of the first round.
