Denmark’s Daisy Nielsen and Charlotte Thompson of England have risen to the top of the leader board after the second round of the Drobak Ladies Open, at Drobak GC, in Norway.

Both players are tied at 5 under par, Nielsen recording a 68, 2 under, on the second day and Thompson a 67. The Englishwoman is in great form, recording a course record 63 at the Norrporten Ladies Open, on her way to a 3rd place finish last week.

Nielsen is enjoying a mixed season, with two missed cuts at the beginning of the year, followed by a runner up placing at the CitizenGuard LETAS Trophy just under a month ago in Belgium.

Sarah Schober of Austria is also in a rich vein of form and is lying just one shot behind the joint leaders at 4 under par, going into the final round.

The Order of Merit leader, Maria Parra (71) of Spain is a further shot back at 3 under par, tied with three other players, including her closest challenger for the top spot, Scotland’s Michele Thomson, who added a 3 under to her opening par round.

Forty-one professionals and three amateurs made the cut, which fell at plus three, 143 total.
